The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain Signature Series comes from the Las Posadas Vineyard on Howell Mountain and was raised 23 months in new barrels. I certainly can't see how this beauty could be any better it's as good as any wine out there and stunning in every sense of the word. Winemaker Mark Porembski hit a homerun with these 2021s and if you get a chance to buy these wines, do it.

Unfortunately, there are a scant 50 cases (two barrels) of the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Signature Series, a riveting Cabernet Sauvignon that does everything right. Aged 23 months in new French oak, it's a big, rich, full-bodied effort with tons of both red and black fruits as well as some floral and incense-like nuances that blossom with air. It's concentrated, has incredible mid-palate density, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish.

Coming from the Oakville Station and Las Posadas (Howell Mountain) vineyards and all varietal, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley reminds me of a great Pauillac (I wrote Pichon Baron in my notes) and has awesome notes of darker currants, graphite, and leather, with a Pauillac-like lead pencil character that I just love. These carry to a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon offering fabulous purity, fine yet building tannins, integrated acidity, and a great finish.
